The use of budgets in BuildTopia allows the user to forecast, compare, and analyze material and labor costs throughout the planning, project management, and review phases of the construction process. This section discusses the three types of budgets and their interrelated use.

*Budget settings determine how the template budget is updated, when the original / current budget is captured and how the original / current budget is calculated.
**Variance codes set up can require selection of a variance code whenever modifying any system-generated PO or creating any manual PO. Variances can then be tracked on a lot basis by the variance log, or by enhanced reporting.
